Selected escrow provider · Trustless Work

Milestone escrow that keeps the agreement in focus.

Smart Gig is designing its escrow experience around Trustless Work’s multi-release contracts on Stellar—so teams and specialists can agree on the work, follow progress, and authorize milestone releases with their own wallets.

Smart Gig rollout status

Provider selected · Testnet integration in progress

Project briefs and applications are available now. Escrow creation, wallet signing, and funding are not live yet. Publishing or accepting a brief does not move funds.

Why Trustless Work

A clearer way to agree on payment before work begins.

Trustless Work provides the escrow contracts and transaction APIs Smart Gig is integrating with. The goal is to make payment terms part of the project plan—not an afterthought once delivery is underway.

01

Agree milestone by milestone

Define deliverables, acceptance criteria, and proposed amounts before the escrow transaction is created.

02

Authorize with your wallet

The planned flow has participants review and sign their own Stellar transactions. Smart Gig is not designed to collect or store wallet secret keys.

03

Release approved work

Trustless Work’s multi-release model is designed for independent milestone settlement after the required approval action.

The intended flow

From agreed scope to milestone release.

This describes the planned provider lifecycle. Availability in Smart Gig depends on completing the wallet, transaction, and verification experience.

  1. Agree scope and roles

The client and freelancer agree the project, milestone deliverables, amounts, and who may approve or resolve disputes.

  2. Initialize the escrow

The client reviews the proposed Trustless Work contract configuration and authorizes its creation from a compatible wallet.

  3. Fund the contract

The client reviews and signs a separate funding transaction. A published brief alone never reserves or transfers funds.

  4. Deliver and submit evidence

The freelancer completes a milestone and provides the agreed work or evidence for review.

  5. Approve and release

The authorized approver reviews the milestone and signs the release action. A dispute follows its configured resolution path instead.

Roles and responsibility

Participants keep control of their signing decisions.

Trustless Work distinguishes the client, service provider, approver, dispute resolver, platform, and contract administrator roles. The exact role addresses and approval rules must be agreed before a live escrow is initialized.

What Smart Gig does—and doesn’t do

  • Plans the workflow: project briefs already support proposed milestones and acceptance criteria.
  • Does not custody your keys: participant transactions are intended to be signed by the participant wallet.
  • Does not claim a funded escrow: current project publishing and application actions do not create or fund a contract.

Built around clear agreements

Start with a brief. Set the escrow terms together.

You can publish a project and review applications now. Escrow setup will be a separate, wallet-authorized step when the integration is available.
